COVID-19 Information
Due to COVID-19 compliance with CDC regulation, youth are required to go home after school before coming to the VYC. Upon arrival to VYC, the youth will have their temperature taken and be asked the standard series of Covid-19 symptom related questions.
If a youth or an individual living in the same household as the youth has and/or come in contact with someone that has tested positive, they will not be able to attend VYC for 72 hours after a negative test. Your medical/insurance documentation would be sufficient forms of confirmation.
Should a confirmed positive Covid-19 case develop at the VYC, all participants during the same timeframe will be contacted and notified. We will place a mandatory 14 day shut down in effect for cleaning, sanitizing, and isolation.
If your child does not have a mask, they are available at the VYC free of charge.
It’s tough to be a kid these days. Academic standards are higher. Health issues linked to obesity and less active life styles are increasing. And positive adult role models can be harder to find.
At Valley Youth Centers of Duluth we help kids in all of these areas and more. In our relaxed setting, kids can find the extra tutoring and homework help they need to do better in school. They stay physically active through a variety of indoor and outdoor games and adventures. And they learn leadership skills and how to make a positive contribution to their community. Most importantly, we give kids a safe place to have fun and just be kids.
- The Valley Youth Centers of Duluth is a neighborhood-based after school and summer youth program serving youth ages 5 and up in west Duluth.
- We provide tutoring to help youth with homework, mentoring, leadership and recreational activities to strengthen their physical health.
- The focus is to ensure that each child that walks through the doors have positive adult interactions with staff and volunteers.
- Each year, over 400+ kids participate in our after school and summer youth program.
